10th Edition Barber Society
Scapicchio Academy at BarberSociety Live – 10th Edition
The Scapicchio Academy proudly took part in the 10th edition of BarberSociety Live, marking yet another important milestone in the international presence of the Academy. Representing the Academy on this occasion were Maestro Luigi Scapicchio, Maestra Pina Scapicchio, Maestro Stijn De Sutter, Maestro Luca, and Maestro Giuseppe, alongside Ambassador Frederick De Maegt.
An Evening of Connection
The event began the evening prior with a shared dinner in a Spanish restaurant, where the Academy team connected with fellow artists and participants. Hosted by Mark and Miranda, the evening provided a warm and welcoming environment that set the tone for the days ahead—an atmosphere rooted in respect, craftsmanship, and shared passion.
Setting the Stage
The following day marked the beginning of the main event. The Academy team prepared their stand with a carefully curated selection of products, unified under the Scapicchio Academy banner. This included hygiene solutions by Novicide, products from ROMAIN, Captain Fawcett, and the official Scapicchio Academy range.
This collaboration between strong and respected brands reflects the Academy’s commitment to excellence, aiming to deliver the highest standard of service and experience to both professionals and clients.
Opening the Show
The Scapicchio Academy had the honor of opening the stage presentations—an important but challenging role, as it requires engaging and energizing the audience from the very first moment. Through a dynamic and multilingual presentation led by Maestro Stijn De Sutter and Maestro Luigi Scapicchio, the Academy successfully captured the attention of the audience.
Live demonstrations were performed by Maestro Luca and Maestro Giuseppe, showcasing traditional shaving techniques, while Maestra Pina Scapicchio delivered an exceptional Kamisori shave demonstration. Together, these performances illustrated the depth, precision, and elegance of the Scapicchio method.
Following the 30-minute presentation, the Academy stand was immediately surrounded by visitors eager to learn more. The introduction of a structured and informative flyer helped communicate the Academy’s renewed vision and professional framework clearly and effectively.
The Scapicchio Trophy
Shortly after the presentation, the focus shifted to the Scapicchio Trophy, the Academy’s annual shaving competition. Participants began arriving, ready to demonstrate their skills under pressure.
Each competitor was evaluated based on technical ability, ergonomics, structure, and final result. Both shavette and straight razor techniques were accepted, acknowledging the diversity of modern barbering while maintaining high standards.
Working outside of one’s own environment presents additional challenges, yet it is precisely under such pressure that true craftsmanship emerges. The Academy extends its sincere congratulations to all participants—taking part is, in itself, a victory.
A Return to Craftsmanship
Throughout the day, the Academy stand remained a central point of interest. A noticeable shift could be observed among visitors: an increasing appreciation for quality over speed, and a renewed respect for traditional craftsmanship.
This evolution aligns perfectly with the philosophy of the Scapicchio Academy, where technique, discipline, and heritage remain at the core of the profession.
Award Ceremony
At the conclusion of the event, the Academy once again took the stage to present the Scapicchio Trophy awards.
The first prize, valued at €1500, included a fully funded two-day Level 1 course in Bovino, along with a premium starter kit from Captain Fawcett and a professional hygiene kit from Novicide.
The winner of the 10th edition was Polish barber Marcin Chaja, followed by Dutch barbers Mark van den Berg and Mark van Mierlo, who were awarded premium Captain Fawcett starter kits.
A Successful Edition
The 10th edition of BarberSociety Live proved to be a remarkable success for the Scapicchio Academy. It was an opportunity not only to showcase technical excellence but also to reconnect with colleagues, strengthen international relationships, and share a unified vision for the future of the craft.
The Academy extends its sincere gratitude to Mark and Miranda for their outstanding organization and warm hospitality.
Thank you.
