Luigi Scapicchio stands at the heart of the Scapicchio Academy, its pillar, its engine, and its future.
The son of Vincenzo Scapicchio, Luigi represents the sixth generation of the Scapicchio barbering lineage. A lineage that does not stand still: his daughters are already following the path as the seventh generation, currently in full training.
Luigi is not loud.
He observes. Constantly.
Every movement, every hesitation, every shortcut, nothing escapes him. Silent, focused, demanding. Strict, yet fair. His authority does not come from words, but from mastery.
He is the driving force behind the Academy.
The structure, the discipline, the standards, all bear his mark. Luigi believes that excellence is built through repetition, precision, and respect for the fundamentals. No compromises.
Beyond the classroom, Luigi is a true connoisseur of the blade.
A master sharpener, and one of the very few who still truly understands and practices freehand honing at the highest level. No guides. No tricks. Only steel, stone, and skill. His passion for Japanese sharpening stones and traditional Japanese shaving arts runs deep, not as a trend, but as a lifelong study. He tests relentlessly, compares endlessly, and refines without ego.
He is also a bon vivant, a lover of travel, culture, and good living, yet always anchored to the craft. Like every true master, he demands much, first of all from himself, and then from others. His strictness is never arbitrary; it is always in service of growth.
