Your most personal and demanding Academy experience

This is where technique becomes responsibility. With a maximum of three students, you receive private guidance while proving your freehand honing, shaving, protocols and leadership.

Level 3 is the final step before Master Barber.

It combines private tutoring, the highest technical standard, leadership and professional protocols in the historical home of the Scapicchio family.

Your path to Level 3

Each level has a clear purpose and therefore takes place at the Academy location best suited to that stage.

01

Level 1 · Bovino

Learn the Scapicchio foundations at the historical home of the family and its tradition.

02

Level 2 · Ghent

Deepen the theory, service structure and professional protocols at the ROMAIN Academy campus.

03

Level 3 · Bovino

Return with your Level 2 mentor for the Ambassador test at the highest technical and professional level.

Ambassador recognition is earned, never automatic.

Completing Level 1 and Level 2 does not automatically make you an Ambassador. You must complete the Level 3 test. Afterwards, all Masters present discuss your result together and decide whether you are ready to represent the Academy.

Two-day evaluation format

Level 3 is organised personally and takes place in Bovino during an official Level 1 Academy training session.

Day 1 · Theory, practice & participation

  • Arrival, briefing and expectations
  • 120 true-or-false knowledge questions
  • Time to practise honing and refine your technique
  • Ask the Masters questions and prepare for Day 2
  • Work alongside the official Level 1 honing day
  • Show collaboration, leadership and professionalism

Day 2 · Practical assessment

  • Freehand honing: hollow, full wedge and kamisori
  • Two complete shaving services on live models
  • Hygiene, protocols, organisation and presentation
  • Direct supervision by the Masters in Bovino
  • Feedback followed by an internal Masters' discussion

Level 3 Diploma & Ambassador recognition

Completing the two days is not an automatic pass. After your test, all Masters present discuss your knowledge, technique, attitude and readiness. A positive collective decision gives you approval to represent the Academy as an Ambassador and the official Scapicchio Level 3 Diploma.

You also receive an official Novicide Hygiene Certificate to display in your barbershop — visible proof of your commitment to safe working practices, professional protocols and client trust.

Both roles represent the Academy and share its values. The essential difference is educational authority: an Ambassador represents and supports the Academy, while a Master Barber may organise and deliver authorised Scapicchio Academy Workshops.
