This one-day workshop at the Scapicchio Academy offers a first step into the world of traditional barbering. You will experience a hands-on practice, designed to give you a true taste of the craft. In just one day, you will learn the fundamentals of honing and shaving with an open razor. It is the perfect opportunity to discover whether this profession and tradition are the right path for you.
What You Will Learn
You will discover the essence of the barber’s craft and how to prepare and handle the tools, practice the basics of honing on a straight razor, and experience your first steps in traditional shaving. Alongside the hands-on work, you will also be introduced to the Scapicchio philosophy and heritage, giving you a clear first taste of what it means to step into this tradition.
For Who?
This introductory training is designed for barbers and enthusiasts who want to explore the world of straight razor shaving and discover whether this craft is the right fit for them. No prior experience is required, only passion, focus, and the will to learn.
It is a discovery course: a clear first step that introduces the fundamentals in a structured, safe, and practical way, so you leave with a solid understanding of the basics and what is expected at the next levels.
Please note: this course is not part of the official pathway to become a Scapicchio Maestro Barber. To follow the official progression, you must first complete Level 1 in Bovino, then continue with Level 2 in Ghent, in order to be eligible to progress further.

10:30 – 11:30 — Presentation & Theory
11:30 – 13:30 — Practical Session: Stropping, Razor Handling & Honing Techniques
13:30 – 14:30 — Lunch Break
14:30 – 15:30 — Demonstration: The Italian Shave
15:30 – 16:30 — Hands-on Practice: Shave 1
16:30 – 17:30 — Hands-on Practice: Shave 2
17:30 – 18:00 — Q&A and Closing
Certification
Upon completion, you will receive the official Scapicchio Accademia Introduction Participation Certificate directly recognized by the Scapicchio Family and respected worldwide.
